Another Social Security commission?

Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) says yes. Read all about it at the Washington Post…

Andrew,

Having another commission on Social Security is about as needed as another hole in the SS Titanic.

It kicks the can down the road.

There is no solution possible based on the constrains that those over 55 are spared from paying for the Ponzi scheme they supported their entire lives'.

The difference between the time frame 1971 to 1976 and now is that the Social Security problem is twice as large as that faced then.

Each year it gets larger and larger. It may be that kicking the can down the road is the best thing for Social Security. Implosion under its shear liabilities may actually get workers fed up enough to get rid of it. They certainly out number all beneficiaries.

PS. How can people with a straight face say that Social Security is the most popular program? This is like saying swaps are the most popular swimming holes.
